We are a family of four, and I am a full-time graduate student, so our current budget is relatively modest. Our family vehicle had a mechanical failure at the worst possible time. After spending months looking for a vehicle to meet our needs and fit our budget, we found Personalize Auto. There was a vehicle online that seemed to be a perfect fit; however, we were a day too late; it was already sold. We were disappointed, but Dula Brown was determined to help us; after about a week, he called with a vehicle that fit our needs and budget. The vehicle even had a few extra features that we did not think would be possible in our price range.

Unfortunately, a known mechanical issue for the particular make, model, and year emerged a few days after driving our “new to us” vehicle home. We contacted Personalized Auto and communicated what happened. The owner, James Byrd, showed up at our home that day with a vehicle for us to drive, took our “new to us” vehicle in for repair, and extended his sincerest apologies. This unfortunate incident happened in the middle of the holiday season, too. As a result, the repair took some time to complete; however, we were given proactive communication throughout our wait. Mr. Byrd called me personally, provided details, and patiently answered questions.

We were nervous about buying a used vehicle from someone we did not know because we understood things could happen; they are used vehicles, after all. The purchase depleted our savings, so we began to doubt our purchase decision when the mechanical issue emerged. The quick, professional response was worth the inconvenience because we saw Personalized Auto Shine first-hand. We were cared for; we were a priority; we were customers and we received first-rate customer service.

We highly recommend Personalized Auto, Mr. Byrd, and Dula were always professional and personable. By God’s grace, we will enjoy our “new to us” vehicle without any further hiccups for years to come, and when we are ready for our next vehicle, Personalize Auto is where we will go.

My husband and I stopped here thinking it was a different dealership. James came out and helped us figure out where we were trying to go. A dealership that has enough integrity to help us find another dealership? Wow. After that experience, we started looking at their inventory and found the car we had been looking for at a great deal. We jumped on the deal and both the owners were great! If you need a car these guys are the place to go. If they don't have it they will look out for the car you want. If you want honesty, integrity, personal service, and a good deal then you want to see this gentleman!!

We are very happy with our experience! This was my daughter's first car and the car was everything she wanted. It drove nice on the test drive. I can't express how happy she is. Leon was our salesperson and made the experience worthwhile. He answered all our questions and showed us how to operate all the buttons. He was funny and made sure the car was detailed and ready for us at pick-up. I highly recommend them. Buying used cars can be stressful and everything went smoothly with our transaction.

Worked with both James and Dula to buy our Mazda, they don't do the overbearing salesman stuff and give honest pricing and information about whatever you're purchasing. Literally, no one enjoys the process of shopping for cars (unless you're insane) but they made it so much less of a chore. Very friendly and 100% Recommend

Do not go anywhere else but here! They took care of our family's needs. Long process but they were patient with our kids. He even put Spiderman on the TV for him! They treat customers like absolute family. I think I found my go-to place for when we need another vehicle!

James is the man. I bought my 4Runner from him a few years ago and I’ve not had a single issue. When my girlfriend wanted a Subaru, we decided to come back to KC from our home in northern Michigan. We were looking for a vehicle for our Daughter and heading to a dealership when we accidentally pulled into Personalized Auto by mistake. Turns out it was fate. We decided to look at vehicles on the lot and met Dula. He was very personable and not pushy! He showed us a vehicle but it was out of our price range. Then we saw a Grand Jeep Cherokee. It was perfect for our Daughter. We were unable to work out a deal that night.
